The only crime is Bad Blood nominated for VOTY in place of the superior Blank Space. Seriously, an episode of My Little Pony had better depth then what ever she tried with the Bad Blood MV.

ok i've thought about this
As far as black artists and recognition go (especially black women), Nicki definitely has a point that they are snubbed. Anaconda was THE music video for several months; its pop culture impact was immense. Had a video by a white artist saw that level of influence, it definitely would have been nominated for video of the year.
I don't think this year's VMAs is the best platform to air your concerns about this issue, though. The main categories are full of black artists. Beyonce, Kendrick, Bruno, The Weeknd, Fetty Wap, FKA Twigs, Wiz Khalifa, Jennifer Hudson, Big Sean, Rihanna, Wale, and Nicki Minaj herself are all nominated.
But Nicki's feelings are still valid and Taylor shouldn't have gotten involved. It really shows how oblivious she is with how white privilege benefits her.

Nicki losing the argument massively.
In summary
Sometimes these artists need their publicist to step in before they end their own careers on twitter.

I guess she was talking about that OTHER white female who was nominated for Video of the Year who has thin females in her video. Oh wait.

Cant wait until this all blows over tomorrow and Taylor remains more successful, more popular, more awarded and with more VMAs than miss Minaj.

yea, cuz there's SO many other skinny white chicks being nominated for VOTY
She's the worst. Trying to shade, but can't even say the name until she's caught and comes up with some BS story about how "it's not ABOUT you!"

Because when is the last time outside Beyonce & Rihanna that a black female released a music video that became huge, was highly acclaimed, made mainstream impact, and broke records? That's the purpose of the Video of the Year category.
Are you expecting Sevyn Streeter, K Michelle, and Jazmine Sullivan to be in this category when they have no videos that are mainstream, have an impact, and made a huge social splash? MTV isn't gonna throw in random black girls just to seem fair.

!!! Katy always did say Taylor was an old Regina George.
Taylor inserted herself into something that had nothing to do with Taylor and made it about Taylor.

At the end of the day, Nicki doesn't know half of what she ranted about and Beyoncé will end up winning anyway.

I understand people do not like to talk about it because it is uncomfortable, but let's not forget MTV is the same station who wanted NO BLACK ARTIST on their channel until they were forced too because the love for Michael Jackson was too strong. That was only a few decades ago, you don't think the same racist execs a Viacom aren't the same people still up there from back in the 80s when they didn't want black artist on their networks to begin with? BS!
If Miley Cyrus made Anaconda, it would of got a nomination just like she did with We Can't Stop for doing what? TWERKING. Stuff black artist had been doing well before her and receiving no hype for it. Once a skinny white girl does it, it's all a sudden assimilated into white America and MTV glorifies it.

Why should Taylor NOT get involved when she was trying to be slick and shadow dragging her?
Why didn't Nicki go after Bey? or Kendrick? Why just the "skinny white girl" who was actually the MINORITY in this category this year? Does Nicki want VOTY to be all black artists? And something tells me that if they had replaced all the white people with black people in VOTY and not included Nicki, she would STILL be spouting off about racism to cover up the fact that this WHOLE martyrdom spiel is ALL about her and only her. She revolves around herself in her own little world
