On top of that One In a Million was a huge R&B hit, and wasn't released physically so it could've charted. That's 6 give or take, and If Your Girl Only Knew peaked at #11 so in reality there wasn't much difference.

Brandy's sophomore outsold Aaliyah's sophomore.
Had Aaliyah not died her album would've ended up Platinum w/ it's 200K debut like Brandy's junior album ended Platinum.
Their careers were basically the same level, except Brandy had the monster hit over her.

She had 4 top 5's as opposed to Aaliyah's 2.
Aaliyah never had an album as big as NSN either.
i don't think they were really equal tbh. and they definitely wouldn't be comparable without her self titled album.
