It's so ridiculous that we're at a point where you're not allowed to address what actually happens in our culture without being labeled as "racist." Lily Allen didn't invent the hip-hop video girl culture. Her music video wouldn't make sense if it was a bunch of white chicks because those are not the women who are featured in hip-hop videos, reduced to **** and ass. And she's also making the commentary that it's perfectly alright for a chick to shake her ass if that's what she wants to do and she's enjoying herself. But of course Social Justice Warriors would rather go after a white chick than any of the black artists who ORIGINATED the sexualization/objectification of black women in music videos. It's pathetic.

Thats not what its about. The point of the article flew completely over your head.
There are many different aspects of the music industry that is sexist and hurts the feminist movement that she could've picked on, yet she specifically targeted black people. She used black women and other women of colour as accessories and props in her video and dressed up in gold chains and was basically making fun of black people
The lyrics to her song had racist undertones too.
I won’t be braggin’ ’bout my cars, or talkin’ ’bout my chains / Don’t need to shake my ass for you ‘cuz I got a brain
Black women don't have brains? And the reason why black people wear flashy jewellery and brag about their material possessions is to highlight the fact that they've succeeded in a system and in a world that is against them. Black men are seen as criminals and targeted by police and being able to sell a lot of records and appeal to the mass market is a major achievement.
Ironic racism is still racism. She objectified those women and used them as props, poured champagne over the women's asses just like Nelly and Robin Thicke did. Making her not much different than them.
Good intentions and meaning well doesnt excuse bad execution.
