Even after that she had a record breaking perfume and a $180M grossing tour and you're gonna tell me the public wasn't here for BTW? It's not like anyone threatened the 7 million people who purchased it with a gun. Rated R had an unimaginable floppage level and the GP wasn't here for it but then LOUD came around and Rihanna was on top and everyone forgot about Rated R because she had the right music, so it's all about the music, if "ARTPOP" was meant to smash then it would've but it didn't.

No disrespect either, but you do not get the point here. Rihanna didn't make herself seem like she's being a LGBT artist, Lady Gaga did and it's one of the reasons behind GP's reaction to Lady Gaga's ARTPOP. BTW was very front loaded and we all know that, but at the same time, it had one single that really is worth mentioning as GP friendly Lady Gaga song and that song is The Edge Of Glory.
People bought 7 M copies not only beacuse they liked the album, but also beacuse Lady Gaga was on top of the world back then and the gp were swallowing everything Gaga.
BTW, the album is one of the most important reasons of GP's hesitation towards Gaga right now. Back in 2009 I've seen guys in their cars bopping to Poker Face like there was no tomorrow. In 2011 I've seen the same guys turning off their radios when BTW, the song, was on. That's how most of the world reacted. The fan base has shrunk, the gp's interest also. ARTPOP was the first and the best step into the right direction and I'm thankful for that amazing album.
