They tried make it in a TD way, because you can see clearly short interval between first snd second single. When Katy was in 2010, she had a potential to be one era wonder, but she successed so much with California Gurls and Teenage Dream became soild worldwide hit, because radiowaves was warmed by CG and Katy's growing public status. After TD everybody saw that she has longevity with her singles.
Roar was so hard and people doesn't care about her second single, which was released too early. And Dark Horse as promo single, ugh. Yes, it was a good single for her, but it killed Unconditionally hype. I think she must release it in late November as Christmas single.
Anyway it would not have been lost, because song was dead.
