Not really. We have a vacant supreme court seat left by Justice Scalia and THREE sitting supreme court justices that are/will be in their 80s in the next four years which can affect us for decades; we can't afford Trump in office during this time period. Justice Scalia's replacement and Justices Ginsberg and Breyer's possible replacements getting appointed and confirmed by a GOP president backed by a GOP majority congress is a nightmare. I think that's the worst thing that will come out of even one Trump term so far.

Ginsberg (liberal voter) is 83 and Breyer (moderate voter) is 78 -- I hope heaven will wait for them for four more years, 'cause if not... . Ginsberg held out from stepping down because she wasn't sure Obama could get a replacement with views liberal as hers confirmed with the GOP run congress and now look where we're headed. Whew lord, let her take her vitamins.

Also, stop being so pessimistic. People generally want what's best for the country. If it takes a Trump presidency, and republican-controlled House and Senate to realize that they aren't any better at running America, then so be it. We're giving them a chance, and results matter.

When it comes to minorities, social opinion will continue to improve. Young people are a clear sign of that. Don't sweat it.

I don't think this will make Republicans lose their stronghold in middle America. And Trump was able to swift a lot of swing states on his favor, so it's disappointing that not even the threat of a Trump presidency made liberals stand from their seats.

Whatever is making the Democrats lose so much, they will have to figure it out and fix it in two years. I do believe it all comes down to Trump's immigration views and some sort of non-establishment appeal.

I do agree that social opinion of minorities will continue to improve, but the politicians elected will still try to make discrimination the law.

If Bernie was chosen as the candidate trump wouldn't have anything on him and all (well most to say the least) the panic y'all feeling right now would be dead since he would've won easily. Hillary was a RISK, and not just any risk, her image was tarnished and damaged by the slightest things (and I won't deny that her being a woman played a big part of that since a lot of people have low key sexist views and prolly wouldnt have said anything if hillary was a man ).Saying anything else is being delusional at this point and its reflected in the results we are seeing right now.
Hope this will be a wake up call for a lot of people and 2020 will be won in a landslide victory for a progressive candidate
