DANITY KANE RETURNS TO THE STAGE @ THE CAL3:TRU DEBUT AWARDS / 'DK-RATED' FIRST TV PERFORMANCE
*A spotlight glistens slowly, dimly onto the stage as some sparkles slowly light up, followed by minimal smoke scattering across the floor. The back screens on the back walls of the stage light up to a grayscale color, with enchanted dark prisms, glitter and glitz of all sorts. A noise of serenity and wind chimes buzzes through and the screens go into a kaleidoscope effect, as a pre-recorded intro begins*
Dawn: ‘You know that feeling you get, the rush ... of being with someone.’
*The screens reflect the words that are spoken in the back of the stage, while the lights slowly come on to reveal glimpses of the stage*
Aundrea: ‘That rush of adrenaline, that electric shock ... when you touch his lips.’
Just then, the spotlights creep to stop and all aim for one object. A square, separated into four squares/parts was slowing revealing.
Aubrey: ‘You just know, you know that it’s gonna happen.’
*The lights brighten to reveal the set-up*
Shannon: ‘And you smile, because ... it’s love.’
*The instrumental begins to play , and the girls are set up in rooms, the squares in the big square. The outline lights up with a neon pink, flickering as several colors are booming across the stage. A hot, upbeat Hip-Hop/R&B hook kicks into place. The girls are set up with a man in each of their room, where each room represents a hotel room*
*Dawn begins to sing her portion of the first verse, she dances with her chocolate candy, seducing him onto the bed. Her room is a luxurious black and white room. She sung with power, emotion and she took a tie. She began to twirl with it, as the man got up from his chair and took off his suit jacket*
“You ready for this,” Aubrey shouts as a Hip-Hop breakdown beat slowly creeps into an Urban-EDM instrumental.
*The girls begin to dance with their men except for Dawn who remains playing with her man. The second portion of the verse kicks in after the breakdown lasts a good fifteen. Shannon gets into her vocals, where her hotel room is a more Southern setting. There are pastel drapes everywhere, and her man is slow dancing in a plaid shirt with some black jeans on. Her vocals are on point, where she keeps on smiling. The crowd gives a small ‘awww’ as she twirls hitting falsetto notes that blow the crowd away. Then the chorus begins*
*A dark, twisted mix or Urban-EDM with some buzzing noises enters, as all the girls’ boxes flashes in different neon lights. The girls’ vocals sound high-pitched, sexy with sensual choreography and an amazing set-up*
“Shut it down, shut it down,” a low voice comes out pre-recorded.
*Aundrea begins to perform her portion of the second verse, where she pushes to and away from her man up against a wall. Her hotel room is more cozy, with red stripes all over a white room. They transition onto the couch where her lover places her down and breathes heavily over you. Aundrea hits unreal notes, singing circles all around the song. She smiles, pushing him off and standing up to strike an elegant, but edgy pose*
“Hit ‘em Aubrey,” she says slowly.
*Aubrey goes into her enchanted lair of seduction. The room is set at a dark purple/blue/black where she has a whip in her hand. She sings with that breathy, sharp vocal as her man is talking on the phone. She takes the whip like a lasso, reels him in and throws the phone away. Her hands circulate up his body, and rips his shirt open. It gets hot, as he kisses her neck and she slips a huge note*
*The chorus kicks in again as the girls all dance to playback and seduce their men further. They all go on the bed, as a huge screen goes over the little building to cover all the scene. The playback plays all these different notes of a synthesizer and different instruments. The buzzing electronic sound bangs even further, as the screen is lifted*
*The girls have now changed into different colored, skin-tight dresses and the men are all duct-taped and roped to a chair. The girls perform sync choreography around the chair to the final chorus, after the bridge of an Urban-EDM explosion had faded. The lights all blacked-out*
“I gotcha now,” Dawn whispered as the music faded.
*The lights came on where Danity Kane was reunited on the stage floor and all the men were in their chairs facing the audience, knocked out. Some were shirtless, one had a ripped tuxedo jacket and little jagged rips all over his clothing, and the other was drenched in blood. The walls of the hotel room were splattered in different colors, with the furniture all deformed. The girls laughed together on the bottom and took a bow*
“Thank you guys so much,” Aundrea shouted.
“We love you,” screamed Shannon.
*The girls walked away, with Aubrey having a final statement*
“We’re coming back for ya!”
