kiss it better is such a bust. i knew the second that dumb snippet on instagram leaked like 2 years ago that it was nothing special, but people were losing their minds over it even back then
the chorus is a big nothing. the second verse not having different lyrics the corny 'wailing' guitar, and the stupid zippy buzzing noises in the beat.
No. But it sucks compared to their previous albums!
As a fan I can get enjoyment out of it but I can't deny that it is a pretty sharp decline in terms of quality from their previous records. But their previous albums are all masterpieces so that's ok
And Amazing Day is just perfection and there are loads of other great tracks.
Of course, "Kiss It Better" was going to bomb. The Navy thought because "Work" was a hit (that sold under 2 million despite being an 8th week #1; "Hello" could never), that KIB would smash, too.
It's too urban to smash. "Work" was a quick little hit after her other songs that didn't make the album bombed.
Yeah Kiss It Better sucks. Every time she tries to do something alternative and outside of her generic-pop/dancehall she fails cause she doesn't have the integrity and artistic identity to make it believable.
Kiss It Better is just too far removed from pop. All of ANTI is. She didn't even try to add a pop hit, something like XO. Oh well, I don't mind her new underground flop career if the music is this good.
