My guess being they'll repeat the pattern of Sulli having issues during promotions for a third time next year then call it a day with her. They've been uber lenient with her so far so apparently SM are full of surprises.

Since Downtown Baby got released already then only 3: Picasso, 365 and Perfect 10
It doesn't surprise me that we haven't heard anything from Krystal, Luna or Sulli since they don't exactly do social media (can't say for Krystal since I don't check her Weibo). As for SM, they publicly acknowledge f(x) for 2 months a year, nothing more (other than letting them perform at daejun's). So yeah it's not really a surprise, regardless of how much it sucks.
Well they better get with program. As you said, it's not like SM uses their resources to promote them, so they should be doing it themselves... SMH
