Hey guys! I'm so thrilled that there are new members on ATRL, mainly the new B stans! It sucked that I was banned just days before registration opened. But here is my belated warm welcome to all of the new Bey stans on ATRL! I'm so glad to see that the Basé seems to be active now, too. Looking forward to getting to know all of you~
I can't even wrap my head around disliking No Angel but praising Pretty Hurts (my ears).
The vocals of No Angel are sent straight from heaven and the lush synths in the production omfg. It's so perfect. And the lyrics are so much better than Pretty Hurts -- she sounds like a grown woman singing **** other grown women/adults in general that would get how imperfect relationships can be and work in the real world after you've been through seasons and phases with someone and you still have to figure out how to work through your **** because in spite of all of the realized imperfections you love them anyway and without conditions. Meanwhile Pretty Hurts sounds like something straight out of an after school special -- I just can't relate lyrically and the song overall just sounds so very bland -- literally nothing interesting about it in an album full of interesting mature and more complicated themes and topics, production and vocal deliveries. Ugh it's such a dud. I hate she picked that song even something like Part II/On The Run would have been such a better fit. I hate she gave it to Jay.

Yeah even though I like PH, it is such an odd fit for the album. The fact it goes into the eargasmic Ghost/Haunted is almost a crime
She knew that Pretty Hurts was a bland song (she did the best she could do with it). I believe she wanted people to think ST would be another boring pop album by her but then she flips the switch with Ghost.
I don't mind Pretty Hurts simply because I think the video is an incredible and fitting opening for the album, but the 80s remix >>> the tacky album version production. The song itself musically is fine though, imo.

I have a feeling 7/11 will be an intro or something... she won't perform it in full... I don't know.
What I would love for to bring back is Sweet Dreams. Specially that Glaston version with Annie Lennox song in it. That was a great festival song that people will go nuts over!

No thanks. Annie disrespected Bey in a major way, so I don't think she should.
I just hope she doesn't do loads of costume changes. Well, it probably won't matter since she did last time at MIA, but when she did V Fest in the UK in 2013 with TMCSWT she was literally dragged for leaving the stage almost 10 times to change, because festivals are usually an all-in-one performance ala Glastonbury
edit: yeah, no costume changes. The Sweet Dreams comments above made me re-watch it and reminded me that Glasto with it's one outfit is still her best concert ever

That was the low point of the tour, the Mrs Carter tour had too many costume changes and interludes. She shouldn't change costume for 1 song.
