Mark wasn't even famous when he did that, so people kinda just overlooked it since he never screwed up like that after the Funky Bunch took off, and the other two were consistently active while their scandals broke out, so the public went "Eh, let's forgive them and move on!" like they did with Kobe Bryant and Chris Brown to an extent.
Mel Gibson was LONG past his prime when the infamous "Are you a Jew?" situation was reported, and even more so when that disaster with that Russian chick ensued, so it basically cemented the fact that he'd be over and would never be able to return. The public is very forgiving, unless you're no longer supplying them with entertainment.
