watching the behind the scenes footage of them using models, precise timings and clever camera work is so fascinating (which makes it even more sad seeing the seizure-inducing amount of blue screen for the prequels, lmao). lotr are well-constructed films but i feel most of the allure comes from the scale + cgi will never be as impressive as using models.

kinda true but I would just call ROTJ okay (it's so ****ing lazy. Making Luke/Leia twins is just a stupid and fast way of ending a subplot, reusing the Death Star again, an opening that makes no sense, Harrison Ford obviously not wanting to be there, teddy bears). The last twenty minutes of it are kinda some of the best scenes in the series.

I'll always have a soft spot for Phantom Menace since its the first movie I ever saw in theaters and it was the movie me and my cousins would always watch together. AOTC is pure .

think it's the first film i remember seeing in the cinema too. don't think i really concentrated at all on it, despite taxation and trade routes being really thrilling plot vehicles for a sci fi film.
