I think it was because they keep the actors for young and old Magneto/Charles in DoFP but not for female characters and because she told them she was willing to reprise her role, but she didn't got any answer

oh mess, but Halle, Kitty and Rogue came back and Famke got her cameo at the end, I mean she was technically dead she did well to come back twice after her death
I loved her as Jean but I think the character is in good hands with Sophie for now.
Famke will definitely have an opportunity to appear in wolverine 3 maybe even as a main/supporting character rather than cameo. Would be amazing to see her as the phoenix in control of one of the zones in the old man logan story
