I just heard the Libertarian VP candidate say that a person cannot be indicted without evidence of criminal intent. If this is the case, this discussion should've been ended ages ago. It's obvious there was no criminal intent in Clinton using a private server.

And all Sanders is doing by staying in the race longer, is making it that much harder for his supporters to flip over to Clinton. I don't think he cares tbh at this point but I thought he was really passionate about stopping Trump.

For those who don't read, based on the recent polls, Hillary only needs 70 percent of Bernie's supporters (which is good because he has a lot of Independent vote which she needs) to add 3-5 percentage points against Trump. She's already up by 2-5 in some polls so that'll be a 5-10 lead.

90 percent of the country vote partisan, and the favorability of Democrats are higher than Republicans. She's in a good, but not amazing place because of her high negatives.

But I'll note that her unfavorable numbers are also partially a function of Sanders' supporters reluctance to move to her side. They were actually decreasing before the beginning of November 2015, which was right between the first two debates. They've been flat since late March, which I imagine is when people divided into the camps of "#NeverHillary" and "well we guess we'll deal with reality now."

Also, another note - things are looking good for Hillary in November if we consider other polls. For the first time since 2013, Obama's job approval and favorable numbers are both net positive, while the Democratic Party's favorability is just 0.7% net negative; it hasn't been positive or neutral since March 2013. By contrast, the Republican Party has a huge -31 net favorable number, and no leading GOP member has positive numbers. From an image perspective, Hillary might not have the highest numbers, but with Donald flattening out toward a large net unfavorable and Obama/Democrats looking good, she has nowhere to go but up!

Hillary's biggest ally this year is Obama (ironically). A lot of Bernie's supporters/Hillary's critics are the far-left who feel the Democratic Party is not going far enough with the policies.

His executive orders are going to do wonders. The GOP is mad that he's doing this, but this will actually help ease the pain with progressives. (Forcing anti-discrimination of Trans using the bathrooms, his gun control orders, climate change, etc.) This aggressiveness to get things done is helping the party, and I'm sure that's why his approval numbers are going up recently. It also helps down ballot tickets because he's painting a narrative that the GOP Congress is unwilling to work with him/get things done.

Bernie is not going away. Even after the primary is over, Hillary needs him supporting her and even campaigning for her to get his supporters on her side. Will he do it? Who knows, but he's not going away.

Still hoping Bernie and Hillary put their egos aside and just run on a ticket together. Hillary should want to attach herself to his movement anyways (or parts of it). If Bernie is on the ticket, those crowds will still keep coming.

At this point, I don't think Trump is even a politician. He's a rock star. Negative press for him is just good press because it galvanizes the anti-PC/pro-bigotry movement. The best way to defeat him is by changing the attention we give him. When he says something controversial, change the narrative to "this again?".

I don't think we actually know for sure that Hillary/Bernie works as a joint ticket.

I don't know if Bernie would even be willing to join such a ticket. Further, I know that one of the big concerns from the Clinton camp is whether the VP pick will "outshine" her and potentially damage chances by making the name at the top of the ticket look weak.

Furthermore, I resent Bernie's attitude toward the later stage of the primaries and I don't know as a Hillary supporter that I would be nearly as satisfied with Bernie on the ticket as with Warren, for example.

There's a chance that a join ticket could be the Trump-killer powerhouse we need, but I don't know that we can guarantee that.

But we should know the decision soon - hopefully sooner than late August as when Obama revealed Biden. I'd REALLY like to know at or just after the convention, though I know that will never happen.
