How is that obvious though? If the game is what people are using as the main point of the rise then it takes nothing for people to change the channel for 10 minutes to not watch a halftime.

More viewers = more people tuned into the half time show automatically.
Obviously someone who performs at THEE most watched Superbowl of all time is more than likely going to have more viewers than someone who performs at a Superbowl with less viewership to begin with

The superbowl gets more and more popular every year.

Obviously a movie who's preview get's shown during the most watched movie of all time is going to have more people see it than the preview of a movie shown during a different, less watched, film
