As far as I'm aware, Gaga never really wore anything like what Katy is wearing, either. So the Gaga comparisons aren't really warranted, aside from her album being 'ARTPOP' and Katy is a pop singer wearing a dress inspired by art. That counts as copying Gaga now? Oh geez.

This has already been discussed. Gaga has ARTRAVE touring to do at the same time that the VMA's occur. Everyone knew she'd get snubbed because MTV would never waste a spot on someone who's not going to be present.

If it's any consolation, Gaga can boast a variety of other awards (including Grammy wins) and isn't being snubbed elsewhere. This lends further credibility to the fact it's Behind-The-Scenes politics and not a case of poor quality videos

And had four consecutive tops singles.

And a fifth single that actually charted.

And a tour that almost grossed over $200 million.

And acclaim.

I feel as though Prism is missing a lot of those things.

Name a single Christina Aguilera song that has been accused of plagiarism. She has more than Katy, it shouldn't be hard if that's truly the case.

It's not mess. There's no definitive proof that Katy copies people, therefore my opinion is simply that it looks very likely that her team copies others. Another person may not interpret the events how I do.

The only thing that is debateable is what impact encompasses. Generally speaking, inspiring other singers qualifies as impact. Madonna has factually inspired Lady Gaga. That's not a debate. You can see in her music and her public persona that she was inspired by Madonna and not... say... Debbie Gibson.

But Madonna is an artist who's been in the industry for over 30 years. Katy's only been in the industry for 6 years. How can you shade Katy for having no impact over other artists who are probably still little kids? Especially when at the same time, monsters do shade her for impacting little kids. Am I supposed to come back to ATRL in 15 years time when up-and-coming pop stars are saying they were influenced by Katy Perry and say "aha! See! She did end up impacting other artists."?
