Hollywood Records is issuing an apology to Raven Symone fans, Derrick the owner of Raven-Source has gotten a message from their official Myspace apologizing for the low promotion, and they are compensating by letting fans vote on a song from her album to be featured on the official Myspace. Here's what Derrick says:
"You guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that a song WILL be on the official Hollywood Records Myspace and that they do see our complaints and are trying to do what they can with the online sources and inside sources available to help her succeed.
They are even opening the option to US the fans to pick the song.
I love "Hollywood Life" and also "Shorts Like Me"
http://www.myspace.com/hollywoodrecords (<<-- official myspace for HR)
As of today they had officially taken over, no one before today was running it at HR."
As well, the official promo's for the album were to be given to Derrick weeks ago by her management, they have also issued an apology.
"We are working on getting the publicity shots up on our VISION site but
have some technical issues, im waiting on status. Will let everyone know
when they are up thanks."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's about time they give the Raven fans some apologies. We deserve them for damn sure. And even if they are trying to compensate and contact promoters, Im still not letting them off the hook for what they've done thus far.

I had no idea she was even releasing a CD! Hollywood Records sucks so bad. I just bought the CD on iTunes, It is downloading right now. They did the same thing with Hilary Duff... there was like no promotion at all! And I don't think they are going to do much for Jesse McCartney's new CD either... I HATE THEM! WORST RECORD COMPANY EVER!

^ They at least sent "Leavin" for ads on radio and he is getting some good press for it. Raven didn't even get a single release for radio.
The official Hollywood Myspace should have had her single up a long time ago, but I really don't think the person that runs that myspace has a whole lot of contact with the individual artists. The same myspace was claiming that Vanessa's album was coming out this fall and that she wasn't going on tour even though Ticketmaster has some of her tickets for sale and official press releases has stated the fact.
I really do think the myspace is connected to her management though. We should probably ask Hilfan about that because other artists on the label are less known than Raven (like Jordan Pruitt) and their myspaces are updated all the time.

Yea, they really didn't even give Raven an official single since "In The Pictures" was supposed to be the first single, but got cancelled in favor of DDB. They need to give Raven an official mainstream single, video, and promo.

Hollywood records needs to just die. Their artists release good music, yet they do **** to promote it. So they apologize for not promoting her, but in return they just say" We'll put a song on our myspace". WTF! How about giving her the promo she deserves. Letting "Double Dutch Bus" be the main single was a bad choice. They should have had Martin Lawrence do the whole promo tour for CRT and then have Raven promote for her album , which came out a month and a half after CRT.

Jordan Pruitt runs her own myspace. One or two of the other artists run their myspace's as well. Everyone else allows the record company to do everything.

Raven has not exactly shown that much interest in her album either. The fans are the ones that deserve the apologies.

I don't think HR needs to die because no matter how you look at it, they did give Raven a contract and we've gotten some great music from her. However, they're promotions department can DIAF.

We should have a petition for Hollywood Records to send either "That Girl", "Got It Girl", or "Green" for official radio adds in the US, with a REAL music video, and promo. And a UK and Australia release! (The album is releases in June for Aussie fans!) And we need a lot of signatures too! Not like 25 people, more like 350 or 500 or even 1,000 fans sign it!

If someone started a petition I'd sign in, Idk if it'd make any difference though.

Probably not, but maybe they'll listen. Especially if we would be able to get over 1,000 sigs. Heck, it'd be cool to get over 5,000! Probably wouldn't happen, though.

RAVEN-SYMONé
(Hollywood Records)
Though she’s a Disney Channel star, Raven-Symoné will probably never release a sexy record to prove she’s not a Mouseketeer — the way Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears did to prove they were all grown up. Instead this 22-year-old from Atlanta seems to age in reverse. Almost two decades have passed since she played sassy Olivia Kendall on “The Cosby Show,” lip-syncing to the bawdy blues anthem “I’m a Woman” on screen. But on her latest, upbeat pop album her voice is higher and more childlike than ever. “I’m a girl,” she insists, “one hundred percent girl.”
Having built her empire on the tween sitcom “That’s So Raven,” Raven-Symoné is wise to work the angle that she’s no different from any of her middle-school fans. One endearing song even finds her staring long-legged glamazons down and realizing “they put their shorts on just like me.” But when the Clutch, Sean Garrett and other urban hit makers try to bring the Dirty South out of her, building beats around distorted synths and repetitive club hooks, Raven-Symoné comes across as stiffly G-rated. On ‘Stupid,” she tells her crush he’s got what most “dames” want.
When she manages to avoid the granny slang, she sounds confident on the R&B tracks. “In My Skin” (she feels comfortable in it) recalls early Janet Jackson. And mid-tempo ballads like “Hollywood Life” and “In the Pictures,” about the loneliness of being a child star, feel heartfelt. They underscore that she still has a real-girl appeal — and the right producers to bring it out of her. MELISSA MAERZ

DULUTH – Raven-Symoné, who began her career at age 2 on "The Cosby Show" 20 years ago, was set to embark on a 55-date tour that was scheduled to make a stop at the Arena at Gwinnett Center June 18.
Raven has stated that everything will most likely just be "re-dated"...But why did it get postponed in the first place?

‘”I have to stay true to who I am’, says Disney star Raven-Symoné, 22, regarding her new self-titled CD, which is slated for release April 29.
‘I am not going to sing about sex, drugs and violence, that’s just not who I am’, she continues. As she prepares for the CD’s release and a 55-city Pajama Party concert tour, the confident and talented entertainer hopes this project will fill a void in today’s music. We need some music that will open people’s minds up and give them other things to think about other than the same things we have been giving them for a while. Maybe my album can do that.’
While the 5-foot-2-inch singer-actress stays true to her music, she’s also staying true to her image by being comfortable with her size. ‘When I look in the mirror and see how voluptuously fabulous I am, I can’t even worry about it. I am just fabulous.’
