"The Lucky One" is the only song from 2012's blockbuster album Red that does not address a romantic relationship. Instead, Taylor sings about the dark side of fame in this ode to three unidentified singers (most popular guesses: Joni Mitchell, Shania Twain, and Taylor Herself). The song alludes to the idea that Taylor no longer holds the same romanticized views of stardom that She held as a child. As our song's protagonist ages, the spotlight transforms from something desired into something disliked to the point that our star takes her "money and dignity" and retires in seclusion. Let's hope that this isn't the fate Taylor has foreseen for Herself.

Ah, the problematic, much-discussed ****-shaming pop-rock anthem "Better Than Revenge" appears at last. John Mayer may complain about the songs Taylor has (allegedly) written for him, but the woman targeted in "Better Than Revenge" is, without a doubt, subjected to the most brutal character assassination Taylor has ever penned. Amongst the lyrics' more interesting offerings comes the line "no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity," a line that Taylor's detractors could easily use against Her. Another noteworthy lyric references the Jonas Brothers song "Much Better," which states that the girl Joe Jonas dated after ditching Taylor was "much better" than the superstar with teardrops on Her guitar.

What BTR is flawless
It really says something about tailors discography when a song like that isn't even in her top 40

The comedic country-pop title track of 2010's Speak Now was inspired by a dream that Taylor had after attending a wedding with a friend where the friend's ex was the groom. The song follows a common Swiftian narrative, complete with shifts in perspective, a happy ending, a singalong chorus, and precise attention to detail. Could any other songwriter paint a setting with such sharp details as "the organ starts to play a song that sounds like a death march" and a Bride-zilla who "looks like a pastry" in her dress?

The Lucky One is great Too low
Better Than Revenge is by far my least favorite song on Speak Now. It shouldn't be on the album.
I love Speak Now It's way too low
