The album is REALLY good. She is actually singing and not doing the whispering she did on the last two records, plus, only one or two songs on this album even relate to sex! Im proud of her, she cleaned it up, added personality and good instrumental ballads instead of boring hip hop beats, she went back to pop, and its working for her.

one of her fansites, janet-love.com, had reported that they received word that Luv wasn't getting a video.

Ooo a post was deleted. but it said she really cleaned up with this album. that's true, but it would definitely be more better if she had written the stuff. :-/

she cleaned it up??? don't you mean her producers and songwriters cleaned it up for her? terrellezell, look, I am patient with most people here on ATRL but you're a little too much of a nuisance for me. You apparently don't research your arguments before you make them. I've looked back at the last five pages of this thread and can't believe how many times you've been confronted with simple logic and you still manage to embarass yourself. Listen to nuroad, Hit The Lights, Playboy, bep rocks!!...pretty much any of them can give you a few pointers on how to state your opinion without simultaneously invalidating it.
Each of the women we're discussing here have each proved they're worth their salt, at least at one point in their career. I personally don't think Britney can be considered in Janet or Madonna's league, but I've definitely got to give her props. She does have talent. I'm not arguing how much talent she has, but she definitely has at least some and you can't deny that. She plays the piano, she writes some decent lyrics, can occassionally sing a few good notes, and despite the fact that she f***s up 95% of the time--she's got a heart of gold! Songs like "Someday (I Will Understand)" or "Everytime" are enough to resolve that argument. As for Madonna, please check out "Ray of Light" or "Like a Prayer". For Mariah, look no further than "Butterfly". Beyonce hasn't delivered up to her full potential yet but I know she's on her way! "B'Day" was a good throwback to the heyday of Ike and Tina-style rock n' roll with some modern hip-hop influences. She's headed in the right direction to become an icon with the rest of them.
There, now everything is settled.

THANK YOU! Even though he's gonna come back and continue to post idiotic comments, your post settles everything. No, Britney isn't in the same league as Madonna or Janet, mainly due to age, cause she hasn't even been here for a decade yet. She still has at least 2 decades to go before catching up to Madonna. As for Janet, she has already outsold Janet, thats not my 2 cents.
Anyways, I just found a good link of Discipline. I had been listening to tracks from YouTube cause I originally didn't want to download it, and now I really don't want to buy it, so I'm gonna give it a few gos on my iPod and give a full review.

Talent-wise:
Janet>Britney
Madonna>Britney
I hope that settles everything.

If Discipline was the debut album from a new artist, I'm willing to bet it would only sell 200k in total, but because it's Janet, it will obviously sell quite a bit more. I think it's a shame that up-and-coming artists have to struggle so hard to establish themselves while someone like Janet can just add her name to anything and it will sell 3-4 times as much as it would otherwise. Same goes for Madonna and Britney and the rest of them. I'm not trying to knock their albums but...if GGGB was Janet's album, it would have already been 2x platinum by now. If Discipline was Riri's album, it wouldn't make it past Gold. So when somebody says TEOM or COADF are overrated, they are completely correct. Madonna, Mariah, and Beyonce work HARD for their success though so I'm proud of their accomplishments. Britney and Janet worked hard in the past, but are now resting on their laurels. I can excuse Brit because she's crazy, but not Janet because she's lazy. Discipline isn't terrible at all, but it's not as spectacular as most Janet fans want us to believe. Most of them are having a hard time even convincing themselves that this is a comeback. It's just very generic. Check out the reviews it's getting even from hardcore Janet fans on Amazon or iTunes! It's just nothing to get excited about. I finally saw her sweet sixteen spoof on MTV btw and it sounds like she's recovering from laryngitis and lost her voice completely, she can hardly even speak.

SHE cleaned it up, she could've easily asked the producers or writers for more provacative material. But you mis-understood what I said, so forget it.
