Probably one of my most anticipated new releases of 2013. Sadly I expected a little too much from them, or maybe they keep trying the same formula they used for the TIW era and it's getting a bit old. Nonetheless, I think this was a great single with a mind-blowing video.
Passenger "Let Her Go"
Sometimes a simple song is worth a thousand words. Let Her Go might not have top-notch production or a high budget music video but its lyrics go straight to the heart. As cheesy as it might be it's one of the most memorable songs of 2013 for me.
Sara Bareilles "Brave"
I have to be honest and say I did not like Sara before this era. As much as I tried to get into her old songs I couldn't find anything of my interest. "Brave" was an interesting surprise, it's just not the typical self-empowerment song. In short, she did what Kelly failed to do with Stronger.
Avril Lavigne "Here's to Never Growing Up"
Avril is and probably will always be one of my favorite artists. Sadly it seems like she keeps losing fans with each release and she keeps failing to connect with younger audiences aswell. This song is not smash material but it gives me a hit of nostalgia everytime I listen to it.
Taylor Swift "Red"
I'm not sure if I will ever be able to forgive Big Machine for screwing this gem giving it live-single treatment. Had it been released in March it would have become one of Taylor's biggest hits to date. It's my favorite song of the album, it's beautifully penned and very catchy.
