That's a really valid point, but we also had the producer teasing fans for a while that f(x)'s comeback would be 'happy'. "Red Light" isn't necessarily 'happy'. Also, "Happiness" does sound like an f(x) song, Amber rap and all.
SM may have known about Sulli's possible departure long before it was announced, hence Red Velvet may have gotten some extra training to prepare for their early debut, just in case. That's obviously just speculation, though, but I feel like anything could happen over at SM. They seem to be able to do everything immediately (except for remove offensive newspapers from a MV).
