BTW has a beautiful message but the chorus just doesn't flow well to me. It sounds so forced and the melody feels strange. (Funny enough, Express Yourself is also one the few Madonna songs I absolutely can't stand.  )
I will say that 2:46 in BTW is one of my favorite parts spoken parts of any Gaga song, (Don't be a drag just be a queen... etc) and then when the beat drops and she belts 3:01 (No matter gay straight or bi, lesbian transgendered life, I'm on the right track baby I was born to survive ....) Heavenly. Everything before those parts I find dreadful.
If I listen to the song I skip to that part To me it flows so much better than the rest of the song. |
I would say that Born This Way the song isn't my go-to Gaga song, but It is most definitely a grower and ages well.
I love it, though I was massively disappointed when it came out. That's why I loved Judas so much because it's exactly what I wanted pre-BTW the song release.
