Maybe they just don't have the resources. I don't know how big their workforce is, but they probably have mountains of work as it is, especially with all these trainees they have locked up somewhere.
SM has the most international potential out of all the companies. They do very well in Japan and like you said, China as well. They know how to prepare their groups and the language skills of their groups are very good. 2NE1 is comparable, but mostly YG acts and other companies don't compare.
Their only epic fail was BoA's US debut and to a lesser extent SNSD's as well. SM and the other Korean companies seem too obsessed with the US, they should go after Europe instead. They would likely find success in the UK and France if they worked at it.
