I had the receipt somewhere, and Can't Be Tamed was #1 on the airplay charts in Spain too. With a #1 single on radio and a #1 album for two weeks and not even gold?
And the fact that it went #1 for a
month in Portugal and isn't even certified anything?
CBT has to be be really under-certified WW. Considering it sold over 800k in its first 10 weeks and only 240k of that was from the US, meaning it sold at least 564k outside the US (Global
) in its first 10 weeks. Factoring in the sales it does have certified, 35k (Australia), 80k (Brazil), 7.5k (Ireland), 15k (Philippines), 10k (Poland), and 7.5k (New Zealand) CBT has a
minimum of 406k in uncertified sales.
For comparison, The Time Of Our Lives only sold 400k outside the US in its entire run (local FLOP alberm) and it's certified Gold in Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, New Zealand, Poland, and the UK, and Platinum in Spain and Ireland. Can't Be Tamed charted higher in every single one of those countries compared to TTOOL.
It also charted higher on the European year-end album chart.
So TTOOL sold a total of 400k OTUS and has 400k worth of certifications, but CBT sold a minimum of 560k OTUS and only has 155k worth of certifications?

This is why I really want(ed) a press release from RCA to clarify on her WW sales because as far as I know they've done that before with some artists.
