The theme of Born This Way was birth. And Gaga interpreted birth as something Monstrous, Crazy, Chaotic, and Extreme that connects together into something great hence the BTW Video.

Thus the looks of this era is styled under the theme of the era: The looks have been Extreme and Crazy(Horns, Catsuits, Dramatic Makeup, different and out there Hair colors that connect together at the end.

Tbh I think Hair wraps up the album message more so than BTW. I think she should of went with that message and it would have hit home. The problem is that people think... BTW??? Oh she's going to preach to us..... She can't possibly turn that into a crazy "Gaga-esque" style. But in fact she has, there have been a few performances this era with her "giving birth". I like that, maybe she should have feigned pregnancy throughout this whole era. And said she was giving "birth" to her music.

Gaga has no central theme this era that ties everything together. Take TFM era as an example. All of her songs were about a different type of 'monster' she encountered while on tour. The cover was very dark, the music and performances were centered around something more twisted and the fashion was monsteresque. Everything she did accentuated and reinforced the central theme of her album.

Born This Way did the exact opposite. The title on the album cover is splattered over a picture of Gaga's head on a motorcycle, clearly she wasn't born that way she jumps from inspirational anthems to songs about immigration, her grandfather, and surviving the streets of NYC. The fashion changes from morning to afternoon and has nothing to do with anything.

And truly if you think about it nothing in life is ever static. Things and people change, people are born, people die, and people change (Change is a constant in life) . I like that. 2nd single -Btw or ScheiBe
3rd single - ScheiBe or Btw
4th single -You & I
5th single -Edge Of Glory
6th single -Judas at the right timing when people are so in love with it after knowing its a gem(especially the breakdown and would breath new life to the album plus a nice closing to the whole era)

Anyway i still love this era but it sure was bumpy.

I think it could, they'd just would need to make the German part shorter for radio. The chorus is magical and in this case makes the song.
