Still hasn't passed First Class domestically. Mess.
Even though I enjoyed the film, Apoc is defently a low point for the Xmen.
Fox needs to produce amazing stuff from now on because if they don't they'll destroy the franchise and eventually make zero money from it. I wouldn't mind having Disney behind the Xmen tbh.
Still made their budget, so I'm just ready for the next installment with a new director, one knowledgeable about the franchise enough that he will help Kinberg craft the script.
I was hoping this make 600M WW and now I dont think it's possible. XMen is my fave franchise of all time, i dont get why this is flopping in the US :/ did it already break even with its productionbudget/marketing budget
I'd kill for someone to do the same team that did First Class / DOFP's script & directing 1.2.punch combo.
I know Bryan had a lot to do with DOFP but I know there was someone else that kept that movie on point. Whoever that was, NEEDS to helm the next film. Bryan needs to stay out for good.
If they want to succeed they need to move the franchise forward & bring something new to the table, just like they did with first class, dop & deadpool.
Because at this point i'm done with Magneto, Mystique & Charles.
Considering the mixed reviews, lesser box office cast, lesser budget it did great actually. The reviews affected the domestic if it was released before BvS and CA plus post editing wasnt rush (they started production LATE) wouls have been miles better.
Good thing Vaughn is the next one handling the next TRILOGY
It's about $100K from passing First Class to become the third worst-grossing X-Men in the US. It needs another $11M at home to pass the first X-Men and rank sixth in the series which isn't impossible. Its WW total is about $2M short of what DOFP made overseas, too.
Apoc's gross is just under 72% from international markets, the highest percent of any X-Men movie.
DOFP - $513M (68% of total)
Deadpool - $417M (and counting) (53% of total)
Apocalypse - $364M (and counting) (71% of total)
The Wolverine - $282M (68% of total)
First Class - $207M (58% of total)
Origins - $193M (51% of total)
X2 - $192M (47% of total)
X-Men - $139M (50% of total)
