Yes, I absolutely love it. It's similar to Evil Dead. It has gore and teenagers spending their holidays in a cabin.

No the original is terrible IMO... I was so exicted to watch it after I saw the remake and it couldn't even hold my attention... twice I tried to watch it and both times I fell asleep. What I saw of it though they aren't that similar

I saw the remake and then came home and watched the original and it was just I don't really see the acclaim to be honest. It clearly wasn't scary but I also don't think it was that enjoyable on the "so bad it's good" factor either.

Just watched the original Mother's Day. It's very different from the remake.

The original Evil Dead is cheesy, but it's still very enjoyable. I agree with the "So bad, it's good" phrase.

The original Evil Dead has not aged well and honestly the people that praise it probably do so for it's camp factor. There are a few parts that are generally creepy, but some of the dialogue and the effects (which were highly praised, but don't really hold up at all now) make the movie laughable to people who weren't really previously familiar with it.

To the person who mentioned The Lords of Salem, I actually just saw it and personally really appreciated it, especially compared to some dreck like Halloween 2 that pretty much treated the audience like it was stupid and relied way too much on "shocking" dialogue and Michael Meyers grunting to high heavens every time he killed someone. Where H2 definitely needed to be edited down more, I thought he was more careful with The Lords of Salem editing-wise (he completely cut out some cameos and side characters altogether), which did the film a service. It was really reminiscent of movies like Jacob's Ladder, Rosemary's Baby and (most recently) House of the Devil and I actually appreciated him for keeping it pretty understated until the end. I generally am not a Rob Zombie fan (although I do enjoy the Halloween remake and LOVE The Devil's Rejects), but I thought he showed some growth on this one. Most of his work is always SUPER polarizing though, so I do understand people hating it.

The original Evil Dead scared the crap out of me. I mean yeah it's cheesey in parts, but goddamn. The screaming from that possed woman in the basement made me cover my ears.

Gurl. That movie was an abomination. It made Michael human. The thing that made him scary IMO was that he was a maniac who killed for no reason. The remake made him weak. And also, I hate that he puts his wife in every movie. ughh

I enjoyed that he was more Human like in this one..it added to the realistic-ness of it I thought

But him giving his wife an acting career is annoying I will give you that

I liked Michael Myers better as an ominous shape, and not some 6 foot hobo wearing a mask killing random people as violently as possible.

I'm very thankfully Zombie will have nothing to do with Halloween 3 (if that ever happens.)

So by this logic... Borderland and Rogue are both perfect movies as they both have 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.... lets not act like we don't have any brain cells of our own now shall we... I'm pretty sure you can watch a film and judge it for yourself without having to go off of a "critic's views" to decide whether or not a film is good

AHS slays! It will be worth every moment of your time. Asylum is better than Murder House.
