The era has been handled pretty ace imo, the music just isnt connecting

You can tell they invest a lot in her this era, it's just not really paying off. I must admit they've been doing some pretty smart things so far (Carpool karaoke, discount, banners, etc.), it's just that it would've worked better with another star, just not Britney anymore.
