They did well in the top 20 on pop.
JB had had success on pop, as did Vanessa.
Burnin' Up - #12 (Jonas Brothers)
When You Look Me In the Eyes - #16 (Jonas Brothers)
Come Back to Me - #18 (Vanessa Hudgens)
And I don't think we need opinions, only facts. If they had smashed before then it's possible, if not then they haven't. Simple.

It's painfully clear but others refuse to believe that and it's their right to believe what they want. The ignorance about how US radio works and what they will and won't play at certain times is apparent in this thread. But ignorance is bliss sometimes.

Hmm. We were having a discussion. There's no need for insults or calling others ignorant. If you don't agree with me, quote me and you know, respectfully tell me so.

Naturally was released in January and PAITUSA in August. We don't know if they waited or not. Skyscraper did OK for a ballad.
Using one song to claim that Disney acts will never have a hit at the same time, based on just one song flopping seems kinda premature to me.
I'd need more proof than than, comparing ALL Disney acts, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Aly & AJ, Jesse McCartney, Jonas Brothers etc radio performances beforing taking that hypothesis as true tbh.

+1
maybe HTL can seem "better" than MD, but we never know how it will do

I VERY clearly said you have the right to believe in whatever you want.
I spoke to a friend in radio earlier this year about this and he just reaffirmed what I already knew. Having analyzed the charts over MANY years and once having another friend work as an intern for HWR, I know what I'm talking about.

My point is though, how do you know they were blowing up without any disney song blowing up as well?
Burning up was released In June 2008 While Miley released "7 things" in june 2008 as well.
Both went top 20 on pop and went platinum. Miley then released See you again on august 2008.

Come Back To Me could've been huge. Limited promo and look how it did.
But seriously, I can see My Dilemma at least charting on BB100. Since it'll be released on iTunes, it'll be (kind of) new, plus the music video and that alone will give it enough points to at least chart in the lower regions of the top 100.
I have yet to see two Disney acts be succesful at the same time. We'll see how it goes next year. Almost every ex-Disney star is releasing music (Hilary, Selena, Miley, Demi, Ashely?). The stan wars are gonna be too much.

Yes exactly!
Unless you're Katy Perry, then the odds are in your favor.
Or if you have a radio deal.

2013 = III WW.. I'm already afraid. This year 2012 has been really "soft" in music.. having CMM as its huge hit says it all (I like the song, but it's not as epic as "umbrella" or "single ladies")

I hope they don't wait and release My Dilemma 2 as a single of the fourth album, like Beyonce did. It could be a whole different radio climate.
Maybe even with R&B smashing again?

CBTM was cute but Say Ok was where it's at.
Not you including Ashley in that list. I guess her ATRL fans will fight for her but the general public won't remember who she is.
My hope is that they release in this order:
Miley - April 2013
Demi - May 2013
Hilary - June 2013
Selena - August 2013
