Nnnn at this being inactive for almost 2 months
I'm really liking my classes this semester. I'm taking Improv, Cinema and Exploring Video Field Production. I basically just love acting without a script.
My Cinema class fulfills my diversity requirement, because this particular one is called "Crossing Cultures" which focuses on how Hispanics, Asians & African Americans are portrayed in American film. And the movies we've watched so far are actually really good...on top of the fact that all of them have come out within the last 25 years.
You guys can comment back if you've seen any of these films that I've watched so far in this class:
Asian American unit
Better Luck Tomorrow (2002)
Saving Face (2004) - this one has a lesbian relationship in it just FYI
The Namesake (2007)
This unit has been completed already
African American unit
Do the Right Thing (1989)
42 (2013)
Fruitvale Station (2013)
We will be watching The Help next week as well.
We also watched the movie Crash from 2004/2005.

My Video Field class is pretty interesting too, although it's more tied to Journalism than I'd wish (I'm a Sound Arts major). But my production team is currently doing a News Package on Brony Culture (male stans of My Little Pony). I'm the producer for it. Too bad the cute guy in my group dropped out of the class
- thank god I still have three other members to work with.
