Omg MMMinaj and Dancehall in the final 2.
I figured MMMinaj would make it just because their thread slayed, and I would've been surprised not to see Dancehall just because of their past performance.
Latch would definitely be an All Stars threat should it ever come to fruition and he chooses to participate in it.

Honestly this is the least worried i currently ever was in the competition. I can't get eliminated anymore, and worst case scenario is i get second, which isn't bad at all. Dancehall has slayed so hard this competition and honestly i wouldn't be mad if i lost to him, and i'm sure he feels the same way.

This is going to be really interesting, and close, I think.
Dancehall seemed like the one to beat right from the beginning imo, but MMMinaj has proven to be a very, very strong contender, obviously by never being in the bottom two, and getting quite a few top callouts, as well. I think this will be incredibly close, and I'm interested to see in who's favour it'll go.

I joined this competition last minute, just as a "why not?" thing. I was the last person to sign up and i just did it because i was bored and i needed something to occupy me. Little did i know that what i was signing up for something was more than i bargained for. This competition stressed me out so much, yet i loved every moment of it. The fact that I, a member who has made little impact compared to some others, made it to the final 2 is astonishing. I ranked 11th during applications and the username challenge. I can 100% guarantee that not a SINGLE judge EVER expected me to be in the final 3, or even make it halfway. I was the underdog of this competition, and i don't mean to toot my own horn, but i can teach Katy Perry what it truly means to be a dark horse. What makes me ATRL's Top Member is my ability to improve on my flaws. EVERY week i took the criticism i got from the judges and used it to better myself. Doing this i was able to land 3 top call outs, 2 of them were consecutive. I made it to the top 3 without ever being in the bottom 2, which i would argue is much more difficult than getting a top callout. To be the top member you must have perseverance. MMMinaj has that. I outlasted big threats and proved i was a force to be reckoned with.
During this competition i learned how to be less messy. I started to actually pay attention to my posts and present myself with some kind of class and decency. This competition helped me get out there and make some e-friends. The people i met in this competition were so great, and i enjoyed every single one of them! We were able to joke around and it made elimination time alot less stressful than it usually is.
I'm so thankful that i was able to be a part of this, and i think my humbleness helps show that i am a top member. All the judges were so supportive and i would get so happy when they noticed the little things i put in my entries. And while there could of been alot of things that brought me down (Completely flopping on go-sees, Never getting a single positive comment from DOMINO, My fall from #1, Constantly being accused of not sticking to my brand) i stayed optimistic. I always thought "ill do better next time!" and tried to be as honest as possible. If i found a challenge hard and my entry unsatisfying, I admitted it. However if i thought the challenge was a breeze and slayed it i wasn't afraid to say so. To be a top member you have to realize that you're not perfect. The only thing you can do is work on your weaknesses and improve.
Anyways i decided to end off by paying homage to my previous entries, with an almost-haiku (broke some rules). These are the things that make me a top member and overall i am so proud of them.
Meh Application
Yet I Made It In The Game
I Never Thought I'd Say
Dry And Dull Username
But Honey I Got You Slayed
MMMinaj Feels The Fame!
Up To The Top Six
Using Colons As My Pick
CREATIVITY
Up At Number One
Judy and Miranda Have Won
I've Become Untame
MiMilamb went HAM
We Worked As A Lovely Team
Working Ha Dazzling Gleam
Skip A Few Weeks Now
I'm Standing In The Top Two
Knowing I Improved
To conclude i'm a top member because i can improve. I recognize what needs to fixed and how to persevere and make relevance for myself.
Thank you Matty for hosting this so well, and thanks to all the judges for their input. To my fellow contestants, even after the winner is announced i will love you all. This was such a great opportunity and good luck and good wishes to all. |

Above is my first post in this thread. During the course of the competition I've proven to myself, and hopefully the judges, why that isn't the case. It took me my first two years to make 5,000 posts, in 2012 I only posted 3,000 times and in 2013 - 2,000 times, and now finally half way into 2014, I’ve almost posted 4,000 times. I'm by far at my most active on the forum (especially the past two months of this competition) and most known now, when I'm near turning 4, and not because of that but because of my new activeness. This all coming after I took a six month hiatus last year because I felt all the members I talked to left and felt it was difficult for me to get any attention anymore, as petty as that sounds. This comeback era of mine, so to speak, I consider quite strong and the reason I should be ATRL’s Next Top Member.
When I first joined I tried to fit a mold of an atrl member, and was quite successful at being the brand of funny that could be quoted for pages, I grew tired of that quickly, then went through my conflicted poster period, and finally now post as myself. That relates to my brand of candid, in perhaps in an odd way. For me "candid" is more about being completely honest. It, in part, references those threads that pop up every now and then, to the extant of "How different are you from atrl personality?" with responses like, "I'm a quiet and respectful gay irl, I just become a large black sassy woman online"; for me it's now a seamless transition and that's something I value.
I've never posted excessively, despite that, many people still know who I am, and more important than that, they know where I stand on issues, my personality and odd things that interest me, which is such a random thing to bring up but it's the most important aspect of my “atrl reputation” if I have one. I hope that in my entries I was able to show me in case any of the judges were not very familiar with me before this game. That is what I believe made my entries strong, not the visuals at all.
The visuals of my entries actually do concern themselves with myself as a member, because visuals are a reason that I should be the Next Top Member. It's not because I make pretty thread OPs, but the visual language of atrl is something that I feel adds character to this site and any part that I can have in contributing to it and molding it I welcome. It's not just not when it concerns me, I love pushing any trend on atrl. Why hate the publish or the different avatar shape movement? When it's so much a part of the site and more fun to embrace them and maybe push them in a direction they wouldn't have gone. Even emofish, an underused already added smiley, which I mentioned pushing early on in this thread is finally having a spring awakening, which I can take some pride in for helping it do so.
I should be ATRL''s Next Top Member because I believe in atrl. Whenever I see a poster with 10,000s of posts complain about how they hate everyone on atrl, how everyone is either stupid, classless or tasteless here it throws me off. Why spend so much time on atrl if the site and its members bother you? I love the discussion and how varied and smart the members are here. It's a unique community and I don't see them limited to those negative labels or any at all. I don’t restrict myself to one thing when posting here or limit my favorite section the Lounge. It's so easy for that section to become the recycled anti ___ threads, gay vs black what's harder, or a list of gruesome crimes. But I believe that this community can talk about things candidly that go beyond that. I thread things fairly often, and they relate back to my real life interests. The recent threads I made this weekend reflect that. Odd things that I enjoy looking up and want to know what everyone else here thinks, because they have insightful things to say. They aren’t always super hits, or hits at all, but if I can engage anyone in a conversation that wouldn’t otherwise be had, why not make that thread that sticks out awkwardly? That's not to say I haven't made my fair share of cute boy threads, since that part of atrl is also enjoyable and why not share?
If I ever find success as a visual artist or designer in the future it's because of the novel experiences I've had that shaped my personality and viewpoints, if I am ATRL's Next Top Member I hope it’s for the same reasons. My entries reflect who I am as a poster; they were often unexpected and showed different angles. They've had a wide range of results, ranging from the Musicality top call out to the bottom two for the receipts challenge, but they've always been about me and myself as a poster no matter what. That candidness, coupled with my influence on the atrl visual vocabulary, not just with my ideas, but supporting any other creative person in what they're doing is what makes me a Top Member.

Definitely agree. Adding on to the first part, it's a no regrets feeling now. We did the best we could on all our entries, earned our spots, and are done worrying about the next challenge/elimination and now it's up to the judges and out of our hands.
