A like only system works better. People can still like shade/messy posts but at least that removes personal vendetta problems and still stops everyone responding to posts with a full stop or single smiley.

I feel like a like system could be good and cut down on the many "" posts we see in a thread when a shady comment is posted. I've seen a like system in another forum and it works well

I don't think a " " adds something for the discussion.
I don't like the reputation system at all but I'm more in favor of simple like system (no dislikes) in regards to a silent acknowledgement convenience.
Highly doubt it'll be implemented at all but just to gauge further opinions~
What if the liked posts were private? You and the member will still receive a notification of receiving a like but it won't be publicly visible on the post? Kworb introduced that idea, which I think is the best, but I'm not even sure that's actually feasible.
Add pointless as a warning back instead of a like system tbh.
But people who float under the radar/have no "stan" affiliations would be able to get away with it, since nobody bothers reporting them...at least not for something inoffensive like "".
You could increase the character limit, too...but that'd just make people post more smilies so

" and "." is annoying.
as a single response, they would just like the post in addition to posting that response.
