So others are not fading with their less than 300K album sales first week, but Gaga is fading with her 375K prediction. I see you.

You're basically saying others who are doing less than 300K yet increasing in sales from their previous efforts are fading while Gaga who is (yes) selling more than those yet is experiencing a rather steep decline is not fading. Also see Applause.

I think people are being really dramatic, but that seems to happen when any popstar doesn't meet the ridiculous expectations of stans (sometimes).

The drop is substantial but can be explained by many things. She's at a tough phase of her career when she has gotten so big that more people than ever want to see her fall. Some people judge her based on her fanbase (which is a poor way to judge anything & is generalizing). Some people say she's too weird, she should go back to how she was. She's never going to make certain people happy at this point, & some sad people are going to enjoy every moment of her not rising to the astronomical heights of Born This Way & TFM.

No, I'm saying one of two things.

1. Either the skeptics are correct and Gaga is "fading", but if you believe that, then what does that make the people who are selling less than her? Amazing, because they increased, but are still selling lower? Lol.

2. No one is fading, Gaga is coming off an era with 3x the hype and 4x the promo.

Option 2 is what I agree with.

I feel bad for the monsters that they will always have to deal with that damn asterisk. Either way, this isn't really bad, per se but it's not good and it's quite embarrassing when looking at BTW's first week. No shade but that decline is awful. Either way, I'm sure it'll still be a very successful album in the end.

I will not be happy with 375k opening, but seriously only Gaga fans should be here and cry or whatever, not Katy ones, because at the end of the year it seems Gaga would still have the biggest opening week for a female.

Katy had ( it seems) the biggest era in years and Roar sold double than Applause and her fans ( and others) try to says that she is the biggest female pop star in the world and yet she sells less than 100k in the opening week than Gaga? That should not be possible. Seriously some people should go and hide themself.

Gaga is always frontloaded AS HELL. That's why this is more dramatic.... coz she doesnt have the hits anymore to support the album sales.

Yeah The Fame, The Fame Monster, Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, The Edge Of Glory, Applause were sooo frontloaded

Her only frontloaded release were BTW (single + album) because they came after a massive hype (maybe the biggest hype in recent pop music history) which they didn't quite live up to + the album first week was boosted by the Amazon deal, kinda killing its longevity chances. It still sold 1.2 million after the first week, which is what an average Rihanna album sells in the US so hey.

Reality is Katy, after how massive the Teenage Dream era was, how massive Roar was, how massive her promo singles were, how massive her promo campaign was, should have been selling MORE than Gaga, who has a more moderate hit as a first single and isn't coming from her smash era but "an off-putting one where she alienated the general public". But this kinda proves Gaga is more of an album seller. I still praised her first week, since many albums debuted with less (P!nk, Bruno etc) and managed to become huge hits.

Those are also pre-release predictions, so they could end up being significantly higher OR lower, so let's just wait and see.

Always frontloaded? Gaga had ONE album that was kinda frontloaded and this album continued to sell good for months. What kind of logic
