"The Lucky One" finds Taylor dealing with the dark side of fame. It begins by discussing the allure of fame, and says that you're lucky if you're a star. However, as the song progresses, the focus shifts and the "lucky one" is actually the person who's no longer (or never was) in the spotlight. Taylor has stated that this song has multiple inspirations (possibly Shania Twain? Joni Mitchell? Britney Spears? LeAnn Rimes?) and has led some fans to believe that Taylor will someday "choose the rose garden over Madison Square."

"Starlight" finally reaches its final resting place just inside the top 40. "Starlight" is one of my favorite songs from Red, and it's also the album's poppiest song that wasn't produced by Max Martin. The song is a historical fiction story inspired by Ethel and Bobby Kennedy (brother of President JFK), but it also seems to draw parallels to Taylor's own relationship with their grandson Conor. The song is lyrically akin to "Mine" and "Mary's Song", although it's more liberating than either.
This is Taylor's final elimination until the top 25.

Starlight was when the album first came out, but Holy Ground is my fave now. Has been for a while.

"Mama's Broken Heart" is Miranda's current single, and if I'm not mistaken it's had the best iTunes run of any of Four The Record's singles. The uptempo track talks about how love has changed through the generations.
