Its not really effective "standing up for yourself" when it results in a large majority of people thinking of you as immature or childish, though.
I personally don't care about the public's reaction to this situation in particular. You're right, everyone is going to think of her as (more of) a mess. The main point for you is "tantrum in a professional workplace", and you bring up valid points. But for me, the main focus is someone who has been treated unfairly and finally saying something.

You're right, Nicki's reaction was extremely messy. And as I said above, I know it looks bad for her. But her public image isn't what I'm worried about right now, I just want this situation to become sorted and for Nicki to be able to go to work without having to stress about snide comments from co-workers.
I guess the reason I support Nicki so much on this is I also endured workplace bullying like this and all I wanted to do was just scream and yell at the managers making these remarks. So I completely know how she's feeling.

Nicki is the one sounding like a raving lunatic. Most people in the industry who have ever worked with Mariah have had nothing but good things to say about her and how professional she is so I think it is unfair that she is being blamed when clearly her responses to Nicki show that all she wanted to do was get out of there and see her kids. Obviously if people want to believe the tabloid fueled "intolerable diva" rumors, that's fair enough but unsubstantiated rumors is all they are.
They are critiquing people. Disagreeing is part of the show and if Nicki can't accept someone disagreeing with her and dealing with it by throwing tantrums and hissy fits like "3 year olds", then she should reassess her position because that type of reaction wouldn't be accepted in any work place.
