Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

This one is so high because of my personal connection to it. The songs are written very well invoking a brilliant feeling of nostalgia and analyzing the "suburb" concept nicely. Arcade Fire are on of those bands that kinda does there thing and I love it.

"Sprawl II" is also one of the best songs of all time.

It's not on spotify??? Like its there but I can't link the songs.

Drake - Nothing Was The Same
Released - September 24, 2013



2013 was definitely one of the best years for music.

Nothing Was The Same is my favourite Drake album, he furthers the bridge between hip hop and his R&B-esque stuff well and I loooooove the second half a lot. He made Jhené bearable! His lyrics are incredible and even the braggy songs are pretty addicting.

2013 was definitely one of the best years for music.

PREACH. 2013 spoiled the hell out of us, which is why 2014 seemed so disappointing (for me anyways, at least). The most amazing thing about 2013 was that there were so many great DEBUT albums. HAIM, Charli, Sky, Chvrches, Disclosure, London Grammar, AlunaGeorge, Kacey, Lorde Feeling so much nostalgia rn.

I adore every album on the 6-10 update.

St. Vincent is amazing.
Modern Vampires of the City is one of my favourite albums of all time, I still listen to a lot of tracks regularly.
I'm still trying to get into older Arcade Fire albums, but yes Sprawl II is literally one of the best songs of all time.

Anyway, Drake is my main favorite artist so I'm glad to see him represented well here. Own It, Hold On, All Me, 305 To My City, From Time.... actually that whole album is everything. I do agree with MP2K that Take Care has the edge for me though, but they're so so close in quality.

Fiona, yes! Love that album. And Channel freaking Orange! "Thinkin' Bout You" is my favorite, too...though who can't help but love "Pyramids", too? Stop haunting me, Kendrick! I WILL LISTEN TO YOU SOMEDAY! Just like with Vampire Weekend, except I've already listened to (and love) that album, so...not like with Vampire Weekend. And oh snap, Arcade Fire! I feel exactly the same way you do about The Suburbs. Personal connections for the win, I guess.

No need for Spotify links since every song is good in its own right. Here is Taylor doing her own thing and doing it WELL. No two songs sound the same and yet there is still a sense of unification. Its ambitious and adventurous and all of her best traits are out in full force. There is a huge variety and both the complex songs and the simpler pop songs are done with full effort and crafted beautifully. Its a new classic if there ever was one and should will go down as a monumental album in history - representing the digital age of music for generations to come.
