In the third week of an ongoing study measuring the chatter surrounding 22 new fall TV shows, ABC’s Quantico and Fox’s Scream Queens have joined ABC’s The Muppets in a three-way tie for most-talked-about show.
Quantico continued a word-of-mouth surge, tying for No. 1 after finishing 10th and 4th during the first two weeks of the study. ABC this week ordered a full season of the new drama, which has performed well on Sundays.
Quantico, increased from sixth to first among men and Scream Queens, which draws more than twice as much word of mouth from women, saw an increase on the male side, rising from ninth to sixth.
NBC’s Blindspot, ABC’s Blood & Oil and Quantico and CBS’ Code Black and Limitless showed above-average levels of positive sentiment compared to the combination of negative and mixed sentiment.
"This week, we're starting to see some movement at the top," Keller Fay's Matt Phillips says. "The Muppets had a pretty sharp decrease, not only in volume but also in sentiment. Shows like Quantico, Scream Queens, Blindspot and Limitless seem stable and have growing levels of word of mouth. We'll see if (any of them) eventually overtake The Muppets."
