Me too. He is the only relevant male artist who is making pop music and he is pretty much considered the Prince of Pop by default too, he has no competition.

Congrats to Madonna for being the only female artist in the top 20, she deserves it. She should be top 10 at least though and maybe even top 5 considering the influence she's had on pop music and music in general.

I'm still laughing at Britney not making the list.

The most influential, controversial, popular and the most successful female artist of her generation and the female artist who made the biggest influence on pop music throughout the last decade and didn't make it. Just sad.

And even ****ing Eminem made it and Britney didn't. Something ain't right there. And @ Eminem being higher that Mariah. She is too low, the woman is a legend and deserved a higher place than Beyonce (no shade).

I stan for Madonna but I have to agree with you. She was influential and did break down some barriers, but not to the overblown extent everyone claims she has.

But Eminem actually brings something to this list. Honestly, I'm more upset about a band like Journey -- which spent its entire career as an industry-wide joke, until the recent revival of "Don't Stop Believing" in the last couple of years -- making the list. How many interchangeable '80s power rock bands did this list need? Britney may not be the best singer ever, but she's sure as hell one of the most popular and influential artists of all time; she defines a genre and an era.
