True, but Gaga isn't an actress. I actually don't know if she can act (never watched Machete Kills nor Sin City), wouldn't it be kind of risky to give a major role to someone's who not pro, especially after season 4 which wasn't "that great"?
Like, the show kinda need a strong storyline + great actors if they want this season to work. I'm just skeptical about Gaga's abilities as a major role

I would call Coven an ensemble cast. Fiona would be the featured character, but I don't think she gets so much more screen time than the others to call her the "main" character. All of their personalities and roles (except for Zoe  ) are consistently highlighted and shown throughout the season.
I fear that Ryan or the writers will try to tailor Gaga's character to her persona. If done correctly, it could be fantastic. I think it's more likely that Gaga's character will end up being a flamboyant, eccentric cabaret singer or something, though, if they try it.  |

Evan Peters has portrayed annoying or pointless characters for the past two seasons, and it feels like they're keeping him there because he's familiar. Better male actors came with Freak Show. Have Wes or Finn portray the young, male character this time around and let Evan sit a season out.
Taissa's acting in AHS has never been up to par. She was given a great character in Murder House and a horrid one in Coven, but she managed to do nothing with either. There was still potential left in Violet, and while Zoe wasn't entirely her fault, she could have done more. She's probably very talented, but it doesn't come across on AHS.
I understand why Jessica's leave is probably a healthy thing for the show, I still want her to be present.  Maybe give her a Myrtle-sized role? |
The Taissa thing is SPOT on.
And I like Evan. I think he's good. He was great in Murder house and Asylum, and even somewhat in Coven despite how limited his role was, but Freak Show was the only time that I really didn't care for him at all. A waste.
Sarah can go, too. 3 seasons in a row, she plays the sympathetic underdog that gets trampled on and all kinds of ****ed up because of everyone else's intentions but then ends up perfectly fine in the end. It's a waste.

This is what I been SAYING 
But sources already stated she's a series regular, and considering she's the only person announced, it seems like she'll have a big role. I'm still kinda mixed on it, because I don't see it as a bad thing, but like you said, it's risky since she's doesn't have a lot of acting experience.
I'm still gonna be pessimistic because Ryan is a hot-ass mess.

Yeah, we'll see. I just hope everything will go well. I really like Gaga, but I also love this show and if she's a mess (bad actress) that's gonna bother me so much
Hopefully they'll announce the cast shortly so we can have an idea of what we can expect.

I'm being optimistic here, but I assume Ryan auditioned her. Ryan knows AHS NEEDS to be right this season, the show is already in the gutter. If Gaga has the lead, or even if she's part of the main cast, I assume he has faith in his decisions/her. AHS has never had a problem with it's casting, it's normally Ryan's storylines and plot twists that **** a series up.
Ryan casting Gaga is no different to him casting a debuting actor. I'm (hoping) sure she'll be fine.

idk why would they announce her first if she wasnt lead or at least supporting? 
and i agree with you, since we havent seen too much of gaga's acting but then again she had musical theater training conservatory at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts so im excited and nervous at the same time for her

I hope he takes from movies like 'IDENTITY' & 'REEKER' with some sort of doomed purgatory going on? (where no one remembers anything before they arrived at the hotel or they memories of before the hotel fade throughout) would be so easy to tie in characters that have died all over the series but also recreate that empathy you feel for a character when you know (or assume) this is it, and they will die in the setting i.e - asylum/murder house

I just hope this whole revitalization or whatever doesn't get rid of all the other actors. The thing that's special about AHS is how it reuses the cast... Though, after Freak Show, it seems they're kinda running out of ideas for them, but... Yeah.

That's a lil too optimistic. Ryan lets his shows to to **** by this time; see Glee & Nip/Tuck. I'm not trying to drag her, but I'm sure Ryan probably jumped at the chance to have her in before checking her skills. That's what he did with both Stevie and Patti.

I'm not saying she's not a lead; I'm saying the opposite. She's definitely gonna be in the main cast.
And didn't she drop out of Tisch?

Identity's amazing. Clea Duvall (who was in Asylum) was in it, too.
But this idea kinda serves a Murder House tea, which takes away from the idea that it's an anthology series.

I mean, it would be stupid if Ryan didn't audition her before. If he gave her a main role, her acting should be good. But then Taissa and Gabourey come to mind so I don't really know what to think.

Most of what I've seen of Gaga's acting comes from the MTN video. Keep in mind that it was her going off lines she wrote and in a video she directed.
Sometimes writing and directing makes all the difference. Not that AHS is Shakespeare, but it's still different from a music video. Anyway, hopefully she's already been training for this.
