Yeh but to be fair it is definitely her image which is the reason behind all of this. Britney didn't wear raw meat or frogs during he debut, neither did many other artists...in fact all artists.
I feel that GaGa may have got this easy due to her creativity and her desperation to get attention. Everyone likes something out of the blue... and due to everyone being interested in her she then recieved more public attention... in fact more attention then any other star this past decade. So if you take away all the silly costumes and weird videos I think she wouldn't be as sucessful as she is today.
