I never liked them together.

Everytime Ted did something for Robin I always used to scream to her like "DAMMIT ROBIN, TED LOVES YOU! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR BRAIN?????!!"

Barney and Robin never loved each other, it was obvious, they only enjoyed "bed", let's be honest.

And Tracy... well, she was cute and was like Ted's counterpart, but I always felt like Ted fought more for Robin's love and he deserved more to be with Robin. What did Ted do to get with the mother? just walk to her, touch her shoulder and "OMG I'm in love"... that's not how it works.

Why can't we agree Tracy is the perfect one. Its a shame she died but that happens in the real world. Ted only moved on after 6 years, not like Tracy was tossed out the window immediately

This is true. I just wanted them to showcase it better, show some of the aftermath of the mother dying, what happened in those 6 years? They don't even mention that she died, only that she's "been gone for 6 years" and there are laughs shortly after that.

The way things turned out I was fine with. Death happens, and so does divorce, and who better for Ted to end up with than Robin 6 years after his wife dies? I just wish they showed the sadness of the death more, rather than making it seem like the whole series was about Ted ending up with Robin.

(Also wish they hadn't made Barney go back to how he was in the beginning, even if he did get divorced with Robin).

I think that's how it should be though. I don't think you have to fight for someone if it was meant to be... it should just happen, be destiny. Ted & Tracy really was destiny.

The final was boring and predictable. I mean not like I expected something huge out of a sitcom but there was no way Robin and Barney were going to last married. I didn't like Barney's final though.
It was kind of a shock to see Tracy died, but right after he said he stayed with her through sickness, it was pretty obvious he'd end up with robin. And when you put it like the kids did, it's true the story wasn't how he met their mother, it was more like Adventures with Robin. XD
Still I'll definitively miss the series. It's sad to see a series you've watched for so many years just end.

it's not like the mother died and the next day he was with robin
he decided to be with robin 6 years after the mother died

the mother was one of Ted's 2 greatest loves but she died and she would want him to move on eventually just like she moved on when her big love died many years ago.

The finale was great and realistic and i'm glad Ted and Robin ended up together 25 years after they met!

Yes, around the beginning of season 2 actually. They filmed the kid scenes around then.

Didn't they mention that everything will go wrong in the wedding during the first episode of season 7. But after watching the entire last season, not much went wrong during the wedding.

OMG!
This makes complete sense.
I mean, how the kids would have believed and screamed "WHAT?!" if the mother wasn't called Tracy. At the moment Ted told his kids the girl was named like that, they really thought it was their mother.

I love how continuity was so flawless in this show.
