I'd argue it doesn't really damage her artistic integrity either, since she always makes and involves herself with music she loves and has little commercial incentive for seeking out hit makers that are going to further damage her label as a country artist.

Yeah, that's why the sellout claims are kind of tiring. She's obviously always made and loved pop music. The main difference on the last album was that she sought people who knew how to make pop hooks and melodies better than she did.

Her fans buy her albums regardless of genre, she is her own genre, Taylor Swift. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together was the lead single of her mostly pop album and it sold 1.2m records in it's first week.

The market right now is worse than 2012 so lower album sales are understandable.

RED is her best album and is the perfect formula for her. LP5 is mostly Max Martin. Sounds like sellout to me. I want to be proven wrong though
