It does affect me, because I use The Lounge and I don't want to see that section filled with discussion about some random picture that has already been explained. If the mods allowed it this time, then people would be asking "how come we could post about the dress, but not [insert new random trend]?" in the future, and it will turn into a whole ordeal. I'd rather we just stay clear of those discussions altogether- that's what Twitter and Tumblr (and blogs) are for.

not a fun ruiner; I'm not reporting the threads or closing them, I'm just showing my gratitude for both being done.
