she is slaying right now...but i can't help to wish that Bey would've released earlier. i'm not ready for this slayage to cease a little bit just b/c Drake is releasing this week. i want Beyonce to own by herself before other major artists start joining.
Didn't wanna pay $18 for the movie that I'll never watch again...wish there was just a standard edition with songs only but it's all good. Bought a few of the tracks I enjoyed like Sorry, 6Inch (which has been stuck in my head all day), and Love Drought...
All in all she DID that and I have nothing negative or shady to try and say.
I bought the 12 songs individually and saved like 2 bucks.
This bitch left Ghost/Haunted as the same song let somehow thought making Sandcastles and Forward to separate tracks was cute
The only different if she had made them one track was that we would have had an 11-track album instead of a 12-track album, had she merged them like Ghost/Haunted and Yoncé/Partition
But playing Forward without having played Sandcastles first doesn't make sense, while I always wanted to play Haunted or Partition before having to sit through the other two tracks
The album is flawless. The film is flawless. Not one bad song, not one bad visual. 10/10 for me. It feels so personal for her, and I'm so pleased to find this side of her in her music now, because I somehow felt like she lacked in being 100% honest in her music (even if I've always liked her and been a fan). She just showed us once again how you gotta do things to make sure people don't lose interest in you. This whole release should be a lesson for the other artists who sometimes can't fully challenge themselves but still want to show a change.
Btw, All Night gives me chills because it has this kind of nostalgic yet happy feel to it and I just can't help being so emotional when I listen to it.
And the whole juxtaposition of song + visual is so moving (especially in Daddy Lessons or Forward).
Does the movie have different versions from the album?
I listened to the album for the first time while watching the movie, and i hated it,but i've just listened to the album(without the movie) and i seem to like it more.
My favorites as of now are Freedom and All Night.
Sorry is a hot hot mess by the way.
