I agree. Imagine if every album after this is as good as this or better. Give Rihanna time (and from what one of the RDaily admins said, this is all stuff that was written by Q1 2015, so it took her about 2 years really) and she will deliver. This really is the beginning of a new chapter in her career, and hopefully she learns next time to not **** her fans around.

Needed Me, for me. And it was my original favorite.

She took this long not only because she wanted some time off vacationing and growing coconuts after working without a break for years, but also because she likely scrapped the album two times, one in early 2016 and one in late summer. I don't buy the "she had the album ready since september" argument. We can have the next album next year and still be as good as Anti. What we need is her to take it seriously "like this time" and not go back to making two solid tracks and fill the rest of the album with guetta leftovers.

Nothing apart from Right Now and Numb (in my opinion) was filler on Unapologetic. The album was great, a 8/10 to Anti's 9.5/10. The only albums that have had a lot of filler were the first two and Talk That Talk. Loud, Unapologetic, Rated R, Good Girl Gone Bad and Anti are all solid, whether you like the tracks or hate them.

Most of the songs on ANTI were recorded in 2014. So technically she could have dropped the album Spring 2015 if she wanted. I think because Kanye got involved and brought in new people she kind of lost direction and the era started to become mismanaged with too many cooks in the kitchen. FourFiveSeconds was HIS idea. BBHMM was his idea since he was the one who introduced her to Wondagurl and Travi$.
I think after trying it his way and going through all the craziness I think she just stuck to her guns and kept the songs that she did on her own and that she actually loved. And Im glad she did because the end result is perfect. She's a better EP than he could ever be.

This album is actually really good and consistent, I'm surprised and happy! Not because I expect Rihanna to make bad albums but I never expected an album THIS good nor consistent.

I waited sophomore year (HS) to now (freshman in college). So much has changed since UNA came out and it's so weird to think about

I think Love On The Brain and Higher were recorded first, and they probably were supposed to appear on the first version of the album (the one FFS was supposed to lead).
Then, in the ''BBHMM'' phase, she recorded Needed Me, Pose, James Joint, Woo, Sex With Me and Yeah I Said It.
I think after the announcement of the ANTI cover she recorded Consideration and Same Ol' Mistakes, and probably she picked all these songs and reworked them in the past 2 months.
No clue on when she recorder Close To You, Desperado and Work, but I think she did them recently, expecially Work. It would be cute to know what songs she recorded and when, and also all the tracklists the album had prior release.

After some time with this album, it's definitely better than Rated R. It's more mature & personal, & the sounds are more ambitious. She couldn't have pulled off ANTI back in 2009 her with abilities at the time.
My Top 3 favorite albums of hers to date are Unapologetic, Loud, & ANTI (yes, I prefer Loud over Rated R lol. Loud is a pretty perfect pop album besides the mess that is Raining Men. I don't skip anything - can't say the same about Rated R).
I'm not sure where ANTI ranks against Loud & UNA yet. Need more time. It's so much less pop than them so it's hard to compare.

My current ranking is probably:
Needed Me > Work > Consideration > Higher > Sex With Me > Woo > Yeah, I Said It > Kiss It Better > Love On the Brain > Desperado > Close to You > Never Ending > James Joint > Same Ol' Mistakes > Goodnight Gotham (what a waste, lol) > Pose
