The IU vibe probably stems from the fact that Gain has basically worked with Kim Eana for most of her solo work (and BEG work) and IU has worked with her a lot as well (basically from the Real mini album through Modern Times). Lee Minsoo and Kim Eana did Carnival iirc and those two also did IU's Good Day, You and I, The Red Shoes, etc.
