Any discrepancy in numbers is entirely due to the decline in sales.
SIO kinda demolishes Roar in terms of cultural impact at this point.
Dark Horse and SIO were released half a year apart yet one is 5.7 plat and the other is not even 4m.
And DH isn't as big as Roar, so that's saying something.
Sorry, but Roar has bigger sales, airplay, streaming that comes from more than one platform.
It's not even arguable which one is bigger.
As far as cultural impact is concerned, Roar's costume was a trendy halloween costume that some celebs wore for halloween including Barbara Walters so you can drop that argument. Not to mention it sent Brave to double plat status.
The album is being promoted in airplanes, basketball games, online, cabs, magazines etc.
Stop acting as if only the singles and live promo are selling it Truth About Love style. Especially when 21 resulted in a 6m selling single and 2 other 5m selling ones.
