Mte. I just watched it, and I already forgot about what happened during the vast majority of it. Giving me "Les Mis" vibes with all of the unnecessary singing clogging up 75% of the damn thing.

I would've much preferred it conclude at that mid-way point where everyone gets the cliched "happily ever after" ending instead of tricking the audience and making it go on for an unwanted 40 minutes longer, only for it to end on a really sour and depressing note.


EDIT: And why the hell was Channing Tatum in the movie at all? He literally disappeared 20 minutes into the damn thing never to be seen again, and there was no reason at all for him to be in it other than for shameless eye candy.

I agree. I'll take a clichéd happy ending any day over and EXTRA 40 minutes of

Wait, was he not in it? Could've sworn I saw him at some point during the beginning. I don't know; maybe I just mixed him up with someone else since he was in a trailer that was shown before the movie, and he had that scraggly, ugly facial hair all of the men in this movie had.

And no, not at all. He needed to die after that abortion that was the Tim Burton version of "Alice in Wonderland." He wasn't nearly as bad here, but I don't know why he felt the need to act like R. Kelly after seeing Little Red Riding Hood. And I find it annoying that someone who was once very good looking and suitable felt the need to look homeless and act like a stoned hippie 24/7.

Don't think. Go. It lives up to its 98% RT score. It reminded me of a great old toy store where everything is carefully hand-crafted. But at the same time it feels modern. And it's full of clever visual tricks. There are nods to everything from Indiana Jones and Hitchcock, but they don't feel glib and the movie is smart enough to reference things that are timeless.
