It also doesn't help that a lot of her songs have the same lyrical motifs. You can sing about the same topic many times, but each time with a different point of view or different images or "motifs". That's not the case with her. She has beyond exhausted the "guns", "drugs", "bad bitch" and "New York" motifs and tends to overuse the hipster/indie references. I'm OK with singing about the same topic, my fave does it too, but you're gonna have to change it up each time to not get people bored.

Lana is a bubblegum tween popstar in the same style as Taylor, so that is just something you'll have to forgive her for prior to giving into the world that her songs create.

Taylor is not a bugglegum tween popstar though. Yes, she does have her bugglegum pop songs, but, overall, her music is mostly not even pop. More like country-ish, folk-ish, pop-ish, rock-ish music, not country, pop, folk or rock. It just combines elements of the genres without ever being any of them. Lana is not really bugglegum either. She's a wannabe hispter/indie artist who's sad for absolutely no reason and while her productions and melodies are usually good, her lyrics really lack so much and usually fail to convey the song's message/theme and has to rely on the production to get it through.
