Damn, 4 warning points. That's rough. You should've been more aware what kind of links you post, though. You know ATRL has extremely strict file sharing rules.

That new supposed rule on banned threads is incredibly unethical and vague.

Rape happens, murder happens, awful things happen. And we learn from them as a society, to fix all of these issues. According to the new rule, all of the Trayvon Martin threads following his death + Emma (Columbia student carrying around a mattress after getting raped) threads would be shut down. Threads like those are important to have and the rule is just begging to be abused.

I understand the need to remove gratuitous gore from the site, but the rule should reflect that, not encompass a widespread ban on all "explicit" information

There's some good tournaments going on now, it's just that there's not a ton (which is odd because they usually slay the whole section.) Create a Label isn't good so I guess that it's fine having it closed.

I feel like Games has kind of gone down in general due to a specific game. It's way too popular and it's as if everyone just floods into it and ignores everything else the section has to offer. Kind of the reason why I'm not in there as much.

Nah, it's a Musical Chairs.

Let's Spoon slayed tho, but it also just ended two weeks ago. Yas all those games are great, though I Love Money and Biggest Loser haven't been hosted in a while so you/anyone could take it into their own hands and probably bring it back themselves. Just ask tha owner of the previous thread if you can host (I mean, this isn't required but it would help avoid possible drama) and if they say yes then do your thing. You don't even have to change any rules, though a little twist here and there would be cute.

I would host but I feel it wouldn't be as good as the originals. I just want Zune and ethan to reboot ILM cuz that was rlly fun + the first game i was good at</3

I think a part of this whole side discussion about tournament games is many individuals don't want to host since there is so much work involved in creating a game and also continuously updating the game.

People love to play games but not many care to host games. I think its always been like that.
I would love for Matty to give some of his 7-8 year perspective on the current activity level of Games to finish this off topic discussion in here.

OT: I figured out my inquiry I had from earlier. I don't mind the new rules as this is more of a pop culture forum. Sure tragic real world events could be discussed here, but it steers in a different discussion beyond that of what most members signed up for: a Popular music forum. So it works for me

I wouldn't necessarily say this is off topic, one of the rules in here is that we can discuss other things happening on ATRL and the lack of tournaments is something happening on ATRL.

I feel you. Though tournaments still need some thought and planning before actually going through with them, anyways, so it's not like someone can really do start a successful one overnight. Eh, tournaments really aren't my thing. Rates, award shows, tournaments... I feel like big events like those are too much for me.

The Lounge The home of discussions about ATRL and general topics.

the difference between Blogs and The Lounge is everytime a lounge thread is bumped, it is shown in the top 3 most recently posted threads. Its easier not to look at Blog topics since it doesn't get seen bumped on the top 3 more recent posted thread like Lounge threads do. Thus its those types of threads that draw less attention to Popular music culture (which this forum is made for) and more towards real world topics.

I think the new rules just makes members think twice about discussing certain real world topics here as an Obama thread is still open right now

Most games I've seen have made the focus more around what makes the artist stand out more then why do other artists suck in comparison this this artist.

Tournament games from my experience has a lot of focus around thread activity, showing off different "skills" (writing, stanning, mini games, strategic), it just depends on what kind of tournament is being made. The downside to Games, which jax. was talking about, is that after sign ups for a game are over, then you miss a boat to participate in a very active thread.
